Method
Key checks before a bathroom renovation: services, layout, shower, WC, basin, materials and maintenance access.
01Survey the existing space precisely
Before moving a shower, WC or basin, record the services and constraints of the room. A measurement taken from a bare wall can change after waterproofing, adhesive and finishes.
- Measure from planned finished levels
- Confirm drainage position and diameter
- Check supports, ventilation and service access
02Coordinate what must work together
Shower, WC, basin, furniture and taps form one system. Useful dimensions, spray zone, falls and operating clearances matter as much as the finish.
- Allow the depth required for concealed parts
- Validate the basin–mixer combination from dimensioned sheets
- Plan waterproofing and waste before tiling layout
03Prepare validations before ordering
A simple file prevents late site decisions. Drawings, selected references, useful dimensions and photos of the existing space allow compatibility to be checked before installation.
- Keep references for concealed and visible components
- Confirm quantities, shades and formats with the layout
- Plan an intermediate inspection before closing walls
