Composite basins allow varied shapes and tops. Their mineral appearance does not mean they all tolerate the same cleaners or repairs. Before treating a mark on a Bluestone or Sanibel basin, find its reference and finish. This identification is the first step towards lasting care.
01
Identify the material without equating it with another
The terms resin, composite and solid surface cover different formulations and finishes. The EDIFIS sheet for the Bluestone Swing basin specifies Marbryx. That information does not automatically justify using a method found for another solid material.
Keep the invoice, product reference and supplied instructions. Also identify whether the finish is matt or glossy. When a mark appears, a clear photograph and these details allow much more reliable advice than the description “white basin” alone.
02
Begin with gentle cleaning
The Swing sheet recommends water, washing-up liquid and a sponge, avoiding abrasive products. Use a soft sponge, rinse and dry the surface. This routine reduces residues left by handwashing or cosmetics.
Keep colouring products and potentially leaking bottles on a suitable support. Wipe splashes promptly rather than applying repeated concentrated treatments. The aim is to preserve the existing finish, not to make the surface as shiny as possible.
03
Distinguish deposit, stain and scratch
A visible mark may be a deposit or damage to the surface. Examine it under oblique light and note what happened beforehand: a dropped object, a spill or rubbing. Avoid successive experiments with different substances that make diagnosis harder.
Do not sand a basin on the strength of generic solid-surface advice. A finishing layer could be damaged or lose its uniformity. Ask for the procedure applicable to the reference and advice from after-sales support before corrective work.
04
Plan maintenance into the furniture design
Water left against the wall or around a bottle can encourage marks. Check joints, waste access and space for everyday objects. A small, well-placed storage surface often makes care easier than another treatment.
When selecting at EDIFIS, request the exact model’s instructions and recognised repair options. A dedicated kit does not automatically suit every basin from the brand. The decision must follow identification of the material and finish.
Before you decide
- Identify the reference and finish.
- Use the specified gentle method.
- Document a mark before treating it.
- Have any repair or abrasion approved.
The essentials
Your questions, our guidance.
Can every resin basin be sanded?
No. The material and finish must be identified; unspecified abrasion can damage the surface.
Is Marbryx cleaned like every other composite basin?
Follow its own instructions. General names do not guarantee identical composition or finish.
