When choosing a Geberit toilet at EDIFIS, compare precisely identified sets. A square outline or collection name alone tells you little about the seat and accessories supplied. Smyle Square, Premium and Selnova can usefully be compared by looking at the ceramic pan, the seat and the contents of the order.
01
Identify the three options
The EDIFIS selection presents Smyle Square under reference 500.685.01.1, Premium Square under 502.727.00.1 and the Selnova Square pan under 500.275.01.1. The Geberit catalogue calls the second set Selnova Square Premium, so the word Premium must remain linked to its exact reference.
Smyle and Premium are presented with a seat included. For Selnova 500.275.01.1, EDIFIS lists compatible seat 500.334.01.1 separately. Ask for the quotation to specify whether both components are included; a photograph of the assembled toilet is not enough.
02
Consider the ceramic pan in the room
Compare the side profile, the underside and the visual connection to the wall. Shrouding and visible or concealed fixings change how the volume appears. Choose using the data sheet and image of the actual product, rather than another variant in the series.
Transfer the dimensioned drawing of each pan to the plan of your WC area. Check circulation, the door and access to surfaces that need cleaning. A shared square shape means neither identical dimensions nor interchangeable installation.
03
Distinguish soft closing from quick release
SoftClosing describes a slowed closing action; QuickRelease concerns removing the seat. They are two separate functions. For Selnova reference 500.334.01.1, the catalogue specifies soft closing and no QuickRelease. Do not attribute another version’s function to it.
Ask to see how the seat offered with each set works, together with its instructions. Examine its profile, support points and access to the hinges as well. These details make the comparison more concrete than a judgement based solely on the word Slim.
04
Compare what is actually being ordered
Prepare one line for the ceramic pan, one for the seat and one for the necessary fixings and connections. Record what is included and what still needs to be supplied. Two proposals become comparable in cost when they cover the same scope.
With EDIFIS and the installer, confirm references, instructions and suitability for the planned system before ordering. Choosing a pan does not automatically validate the installation frame, cistern or flush plate. Keep the complete list for future spare parts.
Before you decide
- Record the three exact product references.
- Distinguish an included seat from a recommended one.
- Check SoftClosing and QuickRelease separately.
- Confirm the composition and installation.
The essentials
Your questions, our guidance.
Does a square seat fit every square toilet pan?
No. Its shape, support points and fixings must match the pan. Use a documented combination.
Does Premium automatically mean the best choice?
No. Compare the exact set with your priorities for design, use and budget, using equivalent order contents.
