Quiet luxury: understated refinement in well-resolved details.

Finishes, junctions, taps and flush plates: the choices that give a restrained bathroom a high-end presence.

In our interpretation of quiet luxury, visual quality comes from a controlled composition: an attractive material, clean junctions and equipment that is pleasant to use. This approach suits projects seeking lasting presence without multiplying decorative effects or conspicuous signs of luxury.

01

Decide where to focus attention

The focal point may be a veined wall, sculptural furniture or a distinctive tap. Choose one as the starting point. Surrounding surfaces should provide enough calm for its proportions and details to become noticeable.

A marble effect can occupy one wall while the others remain more neutral. Conversely, a very discreet finish gives metal and ceramic more prominence. The budget can then be allocated according to what is actually seen.

02

Draw junctions before ordering

A thin cut beside a frame or a poorly placed joint can disrupt an otherwise restrained scheme. Develop the tile layout around basin, shower and toilet axes. Also examine corners, thresholds and niche returns.

Finishing profiles should have an intentional role. Some projects emphasise them; others seek a subtler presence. In either case, choose their material, colour and thickness with the surface finish, not at the end of the work.

03

Prioritise coherent taps

A well-proportioned spout, an easy-to-grasp control and a precise relationship between finishes matter as much as the silhouette. THG Paris collections allow different design languages to be explored; selection must remain connected to the basin and use.

Do not assume accessories described as the same colour reflect light alike. Compare taps, waste and neighbouring equipment. A discreet Geberit plate or carefully matched metal can extend that consistency into the toilet area.

04

Preserve quality in everyday use

A restrained composition quickly reveals added objects and signs of use. Plan accessible storage and care suited to the surfaces. A spectacular material becomes less relevant if its routine does not suit the occupants.

Keep references and instructions with the project file. This makes maintenance and replacement of a detail easier without changing the whole scheme. Understated luxury also lies in an interior’s ability to remain coherent after handover.

Before you decide

  1. Name the composition’s main element.
  2. Draw cuts and returns.
  3. Compare metals under the same light.
  4. Plan storage and maintenance from the outset.

The essentials

Your questions, our guidance.

Does quiet luxury require natural marble?

No. Well-chosen ceramic, balanced proportions and careful installation can express the intention. The material alone does not create the project.

Can a strong decorative accent remain?

Yes. One expressive element can become the room’s signature if the rest of the composition gives it space.
