A generous shower is not selected by head diameter alone. Comfort depends on the water actually available while the installation is running. In a Tunisian renovation, recording these conditions before ordering helps you choose a suitable configuration and avoids expecting a new product to solve an underlying supply problem.
01
Two measurements answering different questions
Pressure describes the conditions under which water arrives; flow is the quantity passing in a given time. A pressure reading taken with every outlet closed does not necessarily describe showering conditions. Ask the installer to distinguish static pressure from the pressure measured during use.
The flow stated on a specification sheet relates to particular conditions. When comparing references, record the reference pressure and minimum operating flow as well. A larger head alone guarantees neither a stronger sensation nor better coverage.
02
Observe simultaneous use
In an apartment, villa or hotel room, the shower may share its supply with other fittings. Have the effect of another running outlet checked. This is more useful than a single reading taken while nobody else uses the network.
Also note variations at different times. Persistently weak flow and an occasional reduction point towards different investigations. Give these observations to the professional so they can select appropriate measurements and checks.
03
Read the reference, not just the photograph
hansgrohe sheets distinguish flow, operating pressure and permitted outlet combinations. For Raindance E, consult the exact version: one collection name covers several configurations. EDIFIS can compare that sheet with the measurements supplied by the installer.
Apply the same method to a Deante shower. List the overhead shower, hand shower and controls, then state whether outlets must run together. Do not add together functions that the mixer cannot operate simultaneously.
04
Address the cause before replacing the product
A blocked filter, a scaled component and an unsuitable pipe arrangement require different responses. Identify the cause before choosing a larger fitting or considering a supply modification. Components requiring maintenance should remain accessible.
Keep the readings and selected reference in the project file. At handover, test the intended uses with the installer. This lets you compare the result with the conditions studied and record the adjustments actually made.
Before you decide
- Distinguish static and operating pressure.
- Have the available flow measured.
- Check simultaneous uses.
- Keep the selected product's specification sheet.
The essentials
Your questions, our guidance.
Will a wider shower head improve low pressure?
Not necessarily. Its requirements must suit the installation; first investigate how the supply performs.
Is the figure stated at 3 bar guaranteed in my home?
No. It describes a manufacturer's measurement condition. Your result depends on the pressure and flow available on site.
