Shower trays: check texture, grip and care separately.

A matt or mineral appearance is not enough: compare the tray's data, surface, waste and intended care routine.

Mineral surfaces and clean lines play an important part in bathroom projects. For a shower tray, appearance should nevertheless come with precise checks. Feel, declared grip, installation conditions and cleaning answer different questions. Bringing them together prevents the selection from being limited to a colour and dimensions.

01

Identify the material and reference

A collection name or photograph does not describe the tray's whole construction. Request the specification and instructions for the exact size and finish selected. Care advice for one material cannot automatically be transferred to another.

Within the Sanibel and Bluestone ranges presented by EDIFIS, documents help distinguish product families. Confirm the proposed reference's information before fixing the plan. Looking like another model does not make it technically equivalent.

02

Request relevant grip data

A matt, rough or stone-effect surface does not by itself prove slip-resistant performance. Ask for declared results or classifications for the product and intended use. The professional should assess their relevance to the project situation.

Comfort also depends on care and residues on the surface. A texture that feels pleasant should be considered alongside the planned cleaning routine. For someone with specific needs, extend the review to the overall shower arrangement.

03

Check installation and waste together

Substrate stability, junctions and water management must follow the chosen system's instructions. The tray's height does not describe the entire installation depth: the waste and connection also need space.

Show the transition from the bathroom, screens and access to the waste. A product described as ultra-flat does not guarantee a threshold-free installation in every renovation. Existing levels must be surveyed before promising that result.

04

Plan realistic care

Check permitted products and tools, then choose a routine suited to household use. Do not assume that an abrasive, acid or repair method suits every sanitary surface. Any intervention should follow the documentation for the exact material.

Keep identification of the tray, finish and waste. These details let EDIFIS find the right information if a question arises. A durable surface depends on selection as well as how it is used and maintained.

Before you decide

  1. Identify the material precisely.
  2. Verify declared grip data.
  3. Draw the tray together with its waste.
  4. Keep the care instructions.

The essentials

Your questions, our guidance.

Is a matt tray necessarily slip-resistant?

No. Appearance does not replace technical data declared for the reference and use.

Does ultra-flat mean there will be no step?

No. The result depends on available depth, connection and installation system. A project section makes this clear.
