Aluminium radiators: check the water and the circuit too.

Before ordering a Fondital aluminium radiator, have the circuit, water quality and instructions for the exact reference checked together.

Choosing an aluminium radiator involves more than counting sections. It will work with water, pipes and a heat generator that are already present or still to be specified. Compatibility therefore concerns the complete circuit and the exact reference’s requirements, particularly during renovation.

01

Identify the reference and its instructions

Gather the model name and current documentation. Conditions stated in one Fondital manual must not automatically be extended to every radiator from the brand. A photograph cannot identify every variant.

Ask the supplier for the sheet corresponding to the proposed appliance. Keep it with the quotation and accessory references. The installer can then review limits and precautions before purchase.

02

Have the existing circuit examined

Tell the professional about the heat generator, known pipe materials and previous work. Mention frequent top-ups, repeated bleeding or observed deposits. Such information can guide an assessment without establishing a remote diagnosis.

A new emitter does not automatically correct a circuit fault. Have the general condition and necessary actions assessed before replacement, so an existing problem is not simply passed on to the new appliance.

03

Check water quality without a universal recipe

Fondital Cool instructions set requirements for circuit water and treatments suitable for systems containing different metals. A professional should interpret them using the model, water analysis and actual installation.

Do not add an arbitrary product or copy a dosage intended for another system. The file should record the selected treatment, compatibility and follow-up instructions. Clear information matters more than a marketing formula.

04

Arrange commissioning and follow-up

Confirm pressure and temperature conditions and required accessories against the instructions. Heating and domestic hot-water circuits are not interchangeable; the Cool manual specifically prohibits connection to the latter.

After installation, keep the commissioning record, product reference and care instructions. When preparing a selection with EDIFIS, provide these technical details rather than simply requesting an aluminium radiator of the same size.

Before you decide

  1. Obtain the exact model’s instructions.
  2. Describe the circuit and materials.
  3. Have water and treatment checked.
  4. Archive commissioning records.

The essentials

Your questions, our guidance.

Do all aluminium radiators accept the same water?

Consult the instructions for each reference. Requirements cannot be inferred from the material alone.

Is frequent bleeding normal?

It warrants professional assessment. Fondital Cool instructions identify it as a reason to check installation operation.

Documentation & references
