Distinguish the fill valve, which fills the cistern, from the flush valve, which controls discharge into the pan. The item needed may be a seal, a component or a complete assembly. Ask which accessories are included with the replacement reference.
Routine maintenance of the relevant components takes place through the opening behind the plate, according to the system and its instructions. Entrust dismantling and replacement to a qualified professional. A cabinet or finish added later must not block this service access.

Geberit announces 50 years of availability for functional spare parts for its concealed cisterns. Its French brochure specifies replaceable mechanical parts, cisterns manufactured from 2023 and a period following the end of production. This availability means neither freedom from faults nor free replacement. Certain specific electronic functions are excluded, and a compatible part may look different from the original. For an older cistern, check the solutions actually listed; its age alone does not establish that the whole unit needs replacing.
