Water saving & care

Overhead showers: prevent deposits before the spray deteriorates.

Care for a hansgrohe overhead shower: observe nozzles, follow descaling instructions and respond correctly to faults.

Partly blocked nozzles can make the spray less regular. Waiting for severe deterioration often makes care more difficult. The right overhead-shower routine depends on the model, finish and water used. It rests on regular observation and manufacturer instructions rather than a universal cleaning recipe.

01

Observe spray distribution

Look for nozzles that no longer flow, a deflected spray or visible deposits. Record the date and take a photograph before intervening. A recent change can also be supply-related: a visible deposit does not automatically explain every problem.

Distinguish an irregular spray from a leak at the body or connection. In the latter case, request diagnosis. Cleaning must not be used to conceal deformation, cracking or a fixing problem.

02

Use the features intended for the reference

Some hansgrohe showers have flexible QuickClean nozzles for mechanical cleaning according to the instructions. Check that your model has this feature before applying the method. Another shower’s materials may require different precautions.

Do not insert a needle or enlarge outlets to increase the spray. This could change their geometry or damage them. For dismantling or deeper cleaning, use only the manufacturer’s procedure and seek help where needed.

03

Follow product, contact-time and rinsing guidance

Consult the specific care recommendation before choosing a descaler. Aggressive products, improvised mixtures and abrasives are not a recovery solution. Contact time and rinsing are part of the method.

For hansgrohe showers, official guidance particularly advises against spraying cleaner directly onto the product. Follow the stated application method and protect neighbouring surfaces. Do not assume the complete shower head can be immersed unless its instructions allow it.

04

Organise prevention and follow-up

Adjust inspection frequency to the actual deposit formation. Intensive use or water leaving more traces may require more regular attention. Record interventions instead of accepting a deteriorated spray as normal.

If a fault persists after permitted maintenance, send EDIFIS the reference, purchase date, photographs and cleaning products used. These help assessment. Do not conclude remotely that every leak is caused by limescale: establish the cause for the particular product.

Before you decide

  1. Identify the shower and finish.
  2. Observe nozzles before cleaning.
  3. Follow the manufacturer’s procedure.
  4. Document persistent faults.

The essentials

Your questions, our guidance.

Can I use the same descaler on every shower?

No. Compatibility depends on the reference, materials and finish.

Does a leak prove inadequate descaling?

No. Limescale can contribute to some problems, but the cause of every leak needs investigation.
