A finished bathroom should be pleasant to use and straightforward to maintain over time. Arrange an inspection with the contractors to check everyday use, record points needing correction and collect information for every item of equipment.
01
Try everyday movements
Open doors and drawers, operate the controls and check access to accessories. Stand in normal positions at the basin and in the shower to identify conflicts during use.
Ask the professional to demonstrate each product's functions. An unfamiliar control or unexplained adjustment may look like a fault when a demonstration is enough to clarify how it works.
02
Have water flow and connections checked
Have drainage and accessible connections observed during the installer's tests. Report dampness, persistent drops, unusual noise or standing water so the cause can be investigated.
Electrical installations and concealed elements require appropriate professional checks. A client's visual inspection does not certify compliance or replace the checks planned for the project.
03
Inspect finishes systematically
Examine surfaces under representative lighting. Look for chips, scratches, missing parts and differences from approved references. Photograph each observation with an overall view and a close-up.
Collect comments in a numbered list linked to the room and item. Agree with the contractor on the expected action and follow-up instead of sending numerous disconnected messages.
04
Receive useful documents after installation
Request operating and care instructions, exact references, purchase documents and photographs of services retained during the works. Identify maintenance openings and the intended way to use them.
Store these documents in a folder for each bathroom. Before the first thorough cleaning, confirm permitted products for every surface; a method suited to tiles may damage a decorative metal finish.
Before you decide
- Test controls and openings.
- Have drainage checked.
- Photograph observations.
- Collect manuals and references.
The essentials
Your questions, our guidance.
Is a clean bathroom ready to use?
Appearance is not enough. Wait for contractor approval, including the times required by materials and the operating checks.
Why keep references after installation?
They make it easier to identify a spare part, care instructions or a finish variant when a later request arises.
