Sigma50 lets the WC become part of the decorative project. Its material expressions and shape variants open several approaches: contrast, continuity or customisation. The choice must remain connected to the exact reference, cistern and intended wall finish.
01
Choose the shape before multiplying finishes
Geberit’s current presentation distinguishes round and angular Sigma50 versions. This matters when researching: the family name alone does not describe the entire model. Compare control geometry with the basin, mirror and tap.
In a strongly rectilinear composition, round buttons can introduce measured softness. Angular buttons can instead continue the discipline of the joints. The best choice supports the wall’s overall design.
02
Separate background material from metal detail
Some versions allow relationships between plate surface and controls to be explored. Look at them separately, then together. A background close to the wall finish with metallic buttons can offer a more nuanced presence than a uniform surface.
Compare button metal and tap metal using real samples. If the match is unconvincing, stronger contrast may be preferable. A clearly intentional difference often looks more coherent than an imperfect near-match between two gold tones.
03
Plan customisation as a proper detail
Geberit presents customisable Sigma50 versions. This does not mean every standard plate can take any tile. Confirm the intended reference, accepted material and manufacturing constraints before drawing the solution.
On a veined or patterned wall, consider how the customised surface enters the design. The aim may be continuity or discreet contrast. Retain perimeter joints and the ability to remove the plate in the project detail.
04
Keep the control clear and accessible
Very discreet integration should remain easy to use. Examine button legibility and hand space, particularly in a room for visitors. Seeking a uniform wall should not make its function incomprehensible.
Then check the Sigma cistern, its generation and the reference’s mounting conditions. Any additional functions need their own verification. Aesthetic customisation alone does not establish technical compatibility.
Before you decide
- Identify the round or angular version.
- Compare plate background and buttons.
- Check the exact customisation system.
- Preserve control legibility and removal.
The essentials
Your questions, our guidance.
Are all Sigma50 plates customisable?
No. Select the intended version and check its conditions. Do not modify a standard plate assuming it has this capability.
Can Sigma50 repeat the wall material?
Customisable versions allow that approach. Material, dimensions and installation must be approved for the chosen system.
