Terrace tiles: choose for rain and real use.

For a terrace in Tunisia, compare surface finish, drainage, cleaning and installation method before selecting outdoor tiles for the project.

A covered terrace, garden path and poolside area have different requirements from a living room. Describe how each space will be used before comparing designs. Outdoor tiles belong to a complete system that includes the substrate, drainage, installation and maintenance.

01

Describe each outdoor zone

Mark areas exposed to rain, regularly watered surfaces and sheltered routes. State whether people will wear shoes or walk barefoot, and note nearby soil, sand or vegetation.

One project may require several finishes. Map the uses on a plan: the single label “terrace” can hide different requirements at an entrance, on steps and around a dining table.

02

Read the exact variant’s data

Atlas Concorde distinguishes performance by product and conditions of use. A rough appearance or the word matt does not fully describe how a wet floor will behave.

Request the declared tests and intended use for the chosen size, finish and thickness. A rating for another variant does not transfer automatically; applicable requirements must be checked for the project.

03

Coordinate tiles and installation

Have a professional check levels, water management and the installation system. Correctly chosen tiles cannot resolve standing water or an unsuitable supporting surface.

Mention vehicle access from the outset if it is possible. Thickness alone does not establish suitability for driving: the complete system, loads and installation must be assessed.

04

Plan realistic maintenance

Compare samples with the cleaning recommendations. Textures may hold more dirt, so verify that the intended cleaning equipment suits both the surface and the scale of the project.

To connect indoors and outdoors, look for a coordinated design with suitable performance in each zone. Ask EDIFIS which references are offered locally and request their documents before approving quantities.

Before you decide

  1. Map the uses.
  2. Check the exact data sheet.
  3. Study the levels.
  4. Plan cleaning.

The essentials

Your questions, our guidance.

Are matt tiles always suitable outdoors?

No. Confirm the product’s outdoor destination and performance for the intended use.

Can the same design continue inside and outside?

Yes, provided each selected variant meets the requirements of its own zone.
