In a rental home, users change and may not know the equipment. A good selection should make everyday actions clear, limit hard-to-clean areas and allow parts to be identified when an intervention is needed.
01
Prefer understandable controls
Compare how clearly controls work, their accessibility and ease of grip. Try the tap or shower in the showroom without lengthy instructions: hesitation reveals points worth examining.
Choose functions actually useful to the dwelling. Adding many operating modes sometimes complicates use and maintenance without meeting a need of future occupants.
02
Plan access for cleaning
Look at gaps between furniture, WC and wall, and at surfaces behind the brassware. A durable finish cannot compensate for a corner that a cleaning cloth cannot reach.
Have access to traps, filters and manufacturer-specified service parts checked. An overcrowded cabinet or concealed access panel can turn a simple intervention into substantial dismantling.
03
Compare cost over the period of use
Beyond purchase price, examine manuals, replaceable part references and supply arrangements when making the selection. Do not assume that a cartridge or toilet seat is universal.
Some equipment can be standardised across several homes while adapting dimensions. This makes identification easier, but each layout still needs its own compatibility checks.
04
Provide a few clear instructions
Prepare a short sheet explaining special controls, care routines and whom to contact if a problem occurs. Include the complete manuals in the property's documentation.
When selecting at EDIFIS, explain the type of rental, number of users and maintenance constraints. Compare complete configurations, then confirm references and availability before ordering.
Before you decide
- Test the simplicity of controls.
- Check cleaning access.
- Identify replaceable parts.
- Prepare an occupant information sheet.
The essentials
Your questions, our guidance.
Should I always choose the cheapest products?
No. Also compare use, maintenance and intervention costs. The choice should suit the home and how frequently it is occupied.
Are dark finishes unsuitable for rentals?
Not necessarily. Assess their care instructions and how visible deposits will be in the home, then inform occupants accordingly.
