Sanitary specifications: make every product and alternative verifiable.

Prepare a useful sanitary specification: functions, product codes, components and comparison criteria for residential and professional projects in Tunisia.

A sanitary specification genuinely helps construction when it allows the same assembly to be ordered, installed and checked. For a project in Tunisia, a precise entry supported by documents is more useful than a long list of adjectives. This working method prepares discussions with EDIFIS and contractors.

01

Describe the required service

Start with the room, its users and the necessary functions. A bedroom basin, a shared wash station and accessible equipment serve different purposes. State the constraints that influence selection.

Then add the proposed product code, version and finish. Keep a separate column for essential characteristics so a commercial substitution does not erase the original requirement.

02

Specify the complete assembly

A visible fitting may depend on a concealed body, a particular connection or a waste fitting. List included and additional components, then identify who is responsible for supplying each one.

Attach the data sheet and drawing for the exact product. Geberit tools provide technical information and specification texts; use them as a starting point to adapt to the project.

03

Compare alternatives line by line

To assess an alternative, compare dimensions, connections, operation, finish and maintenance access side by side. A similar photograph or identical width does not demonstrate interchangeability.

Highlight differences and consequences: a new recess, a relocated hole or an extra component. Obtain approval before ordering; compare the cost and operation of the complete installed assembly.

04

Maintain one shared revision

Give the schedule a date and revision number. Link every entry to a room or drawing reference and retain approvals. Contractor and supplier must work from the same version.

At delivery, compare product codes with the approved schedule. A change request remains open until project decision-makers have assessed its documents and implications.

Before you decide

  1. Define essential functions.
  2. List associated components.
  3. Compare differences in every alternative.
  4. Issue one approved revision.

The essentials

Your questions, our guidance.

Is a brand enough to specify equipment?

No. Identify the product code, configuration and components needed to achieve the intended result.

Can an equivalent proposal affect the drawings?

Yes. Check interfaces and approve the consequences before selecting it.
