A stiff handle or dripping tap does not establish which cartridge is responsible. Nor are two cartridges of the same diameter necessarily interchangeable. To prepare a repair, identify the mixer and describe the symptom before locating the part in its corresponding documentation.
01
Identify the installed mixer
Look for the reference on an invoice, retained packaging or project documents. Photograph the complete tap, control and visible markings without dismantling components solely to obtain a picture.
Where possible, record the installation period. A collection name may span several generations; spare-part information must match the actual product rather than its current silhouette.
02
Describe the fault before concluding
Specify where water appears: at the spout, below the handle or under the cabinet. State whether it occurs when closed, during use or when moving the control, and since when.
Reduced flow may also involve the aerator or supply. Avoid purchasing a cartridge before diagnosis if symptoms remain ambiguous. These observations help after-sales staff or the installer target their checks.
03
Match the part to the exploded drawing
The exploded drawing assigns a number to each component. Record the indicated replacement reference for the correct version, including required seals or adaptors. Similar-looking parts may have different interfaces.
Diameter alone describes neither handle drive, port positions, seating nor height. Do not adapt an incompatible cartridge by forcing assembly or modifying a component.
04
Prepare a traceable repair
Send EDIFIS service the photographs, mixer reference and fault description. Confirm the part and supply arrangements before planning intervention without assuming immediate availability.
Entrust replacement and necessary checks to a competent person following the manual. Keep the installed part reference and intervention date; this small record prevents repeating identification next time.
Before you decide
- Find the model and period.
- Photograph useful symptoms.
- Check the exact exploded drawing.
- Record the replacement part.
The essentials
Your questions, our guidance.
Will a universal cartridge necessarily fit?
No. Interfaces and operation must be compatible with the mixer according to its documentation.
Does a dripping tap always need a new cartridge?
Not always. Identify the source of the leak before choosing parts and the required intervention.
